    The business began as Guardian Angel Consulting with an emphasis on assisting senior citizens with their financial needs.

    1989


    By the end of 1989 the name Kelly’s Accounting service was added as the small business accounting increased.

    Appointed the Public Guardian
    1992


    Appointed the Public Guardian and Public Administrator of Piatt County, folding that into the business.

    Relocated to the Square
    19939


    The business relocated from Kelly’s house to the square in Monticello and hired first employee.

    Purchased a Building
    1995


    Purchased the building at the existing location-310 W Washington St. in Monticello.

    1998


    The businees officially becomes Kelly’s Accounting Service Inc. with a DBA of Guardian Angel Consulting.

    The business has grown each year and the business now employs over 15 people.

Kelly Finet

Kelly Finet graduated from Monticello High school in 1981. She then went to the University of Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. In 1992, she graduated from Sangamon State University, now known as University of Illinois Springfield, with a Masters in Business Administration. After graduation, Kelly worked at ADM in Decatur as a cost accountant, and she was also a Trust Administrator at Marine Bank. Kelly is an enrolled agent licensed to practice in front of the Internal Revenue Service, an accredited Pension Administrator, Certified Public Guardian, and has been a Public Guardian and Public Administrator of Piatt County since 1992. She primarily focuses on tax, consulting, and estate work, but is involved in all aspects of the business. Kelly enjoys her amazing staff in a team environment, building relationships, and servicing the financial needs of the businesses and people of Central Illinois, and the everyday challenges she faces. Kelly still lives in Monticello and has since 1973. She loves the town and wants to raise her family here and give them the same experience she had.

Tammi Leischner

Tammi graduated from Parkland College in 1994. After college, she worked as a bookkeeper for a restaurant. This helped her gain the knowledge she has now about the restaurant industry. She is a registered tax preparer and a Certified Public Bookkeeper. In addition, Tammi is also a Quickbooks ProAdvisor, which helps provide strategic advice for small businesses. She really enjoys looking into different types of payroll and sales tax.

Mike graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1988. He grew up in St. Joseph, Illinois, but moved to Monticello after graduation. He has been in Monticello for 30 years. Mike started working at Kelly’s Accounting in 2005. He enjoys working close to home and in the town he has spent most of his life in.

Patty Rund

Patty graduated from the University of Illinois in 1991 with a degree in retail marketing. She started working freelance with Kelly in 1995 and has been at Kelly’s accounting ever since. Patty enjoys working with the small businesses around the area. She finds it enlightening to see people succeed in their lives and businesses. The majority of her work is bookkeeping for small businesses.

Mary Butler

Mary graduated with honors from Eastern Illinois University with a major in Chemistry and a minor in math. She was a supervisor at Pepsin Syrup Company, where she delt with paperwork. She has worked at Kelly’s Accounting since 2000. Mary is in charge of all the receivables, bills, and supplies for Kelly’s Accounting.

Chris Schroeder

Christopher Schroeder graduated from Millikin University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He began his career at CliftonLarsonAllen in Champaign, IL where he specialized in audit/assurance services and employee benefit plans. After several years with the firm, he was given the opportunity to work at Vanderbilt Medical Center where he helped manage federal grants that specialized in advancing the study of infectious diseases. In 2015, he began working at Kelly’s Accounting Service, Inc. Today, he is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS and specializes in corporate taxation, grant consulting, and advisory services.

Wendy Norvell

Wendy graduated from The University of Illinois in 1987 with a degree in mechanical engineering and later went back to receive her masters. Wendy and her husband moved to Monticello in 1989. She worked at CAT for nine years until she had children and wanted to spend more time with them. Wendy started working at Kelly’s Accounting in 2010. She really enjoys all of her co-workers and the town of Monticello.She focuses the majority of her time on bookkeeping and tax prep.

Molly Loftus

Molly started working at Kelly’s Accounting in 2004 while she was still in high school. She continued working here throughout her undergrad and masters. She graduated from The University of Illinois in 2006 and then received her master’s degree in 2008. Molly enjoys her boss, co-workers, and clients, but her favorite part about her job is that no two days are the same. It is a fun and challenging atmosphere. She focuses on bookkeeping, sales tax, payroll taxes, and payroll.

Shanelle Herman

Shanelle graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2001 with a BS in accounting. After graduation, Shanelle was a senior accountant for a corporation in the mortgage industry during the real estate boom in the early 2000’s. From this, she gained a lot of experience in GAAP financial statements and the real estate industry. She has been a Certified Public Accountant for a little over 12 years. She joined Kelly’s Accounting in 2010. Her strengths are financial accounting, individual tax, and the unique tax positions of Ministers.

Emily Zelhart

Emily started working for Kelly’s Accounting in 2018 as a summer intern. She is working at Kelly’s Accounting as she finishes her degree and plans to work full-time after she graduates from Illinois State University in December of 2019. Emily enjoys all the experience she is getting. She does payroll, payroll taxes, bookkeeping, and on-site consulting for Kelly’s Accounting.

2013 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelors degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting. Lives in Norridge, IL and works both remotely and onsite. Also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Real Estate Broker. Enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially at the farm in Tiskilwa. Played college volleyball and enjoys bow shooting and riding horses.
